In the winter months hand hygiene along with respiratory hygiene is the most important method of preventing and controlling the spread of infections.

Everyone should:

• Wash hands regularly with soap and water;
• Carry a tissues at all times;
• Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing and to use a tissue which is disposed of quickly and carefully in a bin.

Parents should encourage children to following good hand hygiene and catch-it, bin-it, kill-it.
