It can be frustrating when your children seem to tune out requests and instructions. Whether it’s because they’re genuinely not paying attention, they’ve forgotten, or they’re purposefully ignoring you, it can be a challenge. Remember that they might not be doing it on purpose. They might even intend to do what you asked, just not right away. So, instead of getting caught in a loop of repeating yourself, there are some steps to try to encourage your child to listen and follow through after the first ask. Some children will have additional learning requirements, and you as their parent will be best placed to understand and know how to support your children in this instance.
